The Turkey Trot is not
your average run. Our goal is to make the run an EXPERIENCE. We
want to raise the level of organization, volunteer involvement,
accurate and timely information, quality garment and food, and raise
the level of excitement!
As an example, post race
food is not just bananas, water and oranges like most other races;
we have gourmet food hand pick by renowned author and chef Steven
Wong from the food stalls of Granville Island itself!
Stephen
works through Sunday night in preparation to dazzle you through
site, smell, and taste! Here is Stephen’s bio:
Throughout the
years, as a food and wine journalist, Stephen Wong has contributed
to numerous publications including The Northwest Palate,
Northwest Best Places, Vancouver Magazine, CityFood,
Canadian Living, The Vancouver Sun, Metropolitan Home,
and Georgia Straight. His recipes and photo
food-styling work are featured in cookbooks such as Pacific
Northwest - The Beautiful Cookbook, Pacific Northwest
Flavours, Wine & Dine British Columbia, and
Entrée To Asia. He was also a regular columnist for
MyBC.com, IFOODVancouver.com and The
Province, and the author of HeartSmart
Chinese Cooking (Douglas & McIntyre), and co-author of
New World Noodles, New World Chinese Cooking (Robert
Rose Inc.), and Chefs In The Market (Raincoast).
Wong worked and held key management positions in
some of the best award-winning dining establishments in Vancouver
and elsewhere in the province such as Le Gavroche,
Sooke Harbour House and Raintree.
